C: Ambra.

N: Brutale nella sua immediatezza, alcol, frutta tropicale, marzapane e lemon grass. Inoltre, ci sono odori similari a qualche vecchio rum Demerara a gradazione piena. Di seguito emergono note di pelle, sughero e metalli. Infine note di sherry.

DEFINITIVO.

 P: Rabarbaro, frutta tropicale. Poi un accenno di fumo e lemon zest. Infine legno.

 F: Finale molto persistente, fumo, frutta tropicale e sughero.

Senza giri di parole, il punto più alto nella nostra giovane vita di amanti del whisky. La bottiglia adatta per rendere omaggio a colui che ha tracciato la via a tutti glia altri imbottigliatori italiani, Mr. Silvano Samaroli.

C: Amber.

N: What a beast?! Initially we smell a peak of alcohol together with the marzipan and lemon grass. On top of that, as some young full strength Demerara rum used to be, it achieves a fullness of tropical fruits, leather and cork considering also a hint of iron tool and powder. At the end, sherry notes.

One of the highest whisky tasting experience until now.

 P: Although it has been bottled at the original strength of the cask, the first round is a harmonic union of tasting: oranges and rhubarb, tropical fruit. After a few second it shows its real nature: smoke, wood and lemon zest. Absolutely incredible.

 F: Long final under the imprinting of the smoke, tropical fruits and cork.

We are speechless, it simply was the best whisky experience of our life. What a beauty?!?! It is the right bottle to open in order to celebrate the memory of Mr. Silvano Samaroli.

SPRINGBANK 15 ANNI (45,7%, CADENHEAD’S FOR SAMAROLI, 1964-1979)

C: Ambra.

N: Lucido da scarpe, gomma e sughero. Poi, frutta gialla matura, cera e alcol.

P: Limone, pepe, cera e fumo. Infine una bella zaffata di torba.

F: Torba e cera sul finale.

Una grande bottiglia, sicuramente più austero e complesso del precedente, da provare almeno una volta nella vita.

VOTO: 92/100

N: There is a lot of polish, rubber and cork. Then yellow fruits appear together with wax and alcohol.

P: We perceive lemon, pepper, wax and smoke. Lastly, peat.

F: Peaty and waxy aftertaste.

Great bottle, it is certainty more complex rather than the previous one. This bottle should be opened almost once in a life.

SPRINGBANK 23 ANNI (50%, SAMAROLI, 1965)

C: Oro pallido.

N: Torniamo su usuali registry Springbank, un esiguo registro di spezie introduce la frutta rossa e una nota di cedro. Di seguito aromi amari di frutta secca e cera. Infine una tenue torba e un pò di fumo.

P: Sapori spigolosi e amari, zest di limone e minerale. Poi, carne rossa, zenzero e caffè.

F: Ancora sensazione di amaro nel finale, sempre più minerale.

Un malto da sogno..

N: Currently we are coming back to the usual path of “Springbankness”, a little amount of spices which are surrounded by a lot of red fruits and orange. Then we smell bitter aromas of nut and wax. Lastly, pear and smoke.

P: Bitter tastes, lemon zest and mineral sensation. Furthermore, red meat, ginger and coffee.

F: Bitter again, ginger, lemon zest and mineral.

SPRINGBANK 1980 (50%, SAMAROLI 20^TH ANNIVERSARY, 1988)

C: Oro pallido.

N: Fieno e cannella, poi annotiamo zest di limone e pepe nero. Sicuramente risulta meno strutturato degli altri, poi mela verde e biscotti. Infine burro salato e una zaffata di fumo.

P: Che meraviglia il binomio burro salato e la mela verde! Cannella, vino bianco e marzapane.

F: Mediamente persistente, burro e limone.

Bottiglia celebrativa del ventennale dalla fondazione (1968). Un’ interessantissima variazione sul tema dove sapori e odori più mitigati trovano una straordinaria armonia collettiva.
