N: Chiuso all’inizio. Poi, carbone, fumo intenso e zest di limone, la classica partenza del 12 anni a gradazione piena di casa Lagavulin. Inoltre percepiamo la liquirizia, pellame e menta. Infine la percezione alcolica cresce prepotentemente.
P: Torba e fumo intenso. La bocca sta andando a fuoco. Poi, salamoia e legno bruciato. Il corpo è viscoso. Speziato, piccante e profondamente salato.
F: Mediamente persistente, sale, salamoia, carbone e fumo.
Non siamo mai stati grandi fan dei rilasci annuali del 12 anni marchiato lagavulin. Quest’anno abbiamo apprezzato il risultato. Più profondo e corposo del solito.

N: Spegniamo il cervello, accantoniamo i pensieri e ci isoliamo in quel mondo ideale dove bere roba del genere dovrebbe essere consentito a tutti e senza sosta. Si inizia a sniffare questo nettare ed ecco le prime sensazioni: leggera e rotonda torba, si quella famosa torba dei magici 70’s, poi fumo vegetale, alloro e zenzero. Inoltre pane al latte appena sfornato e pere mature.
P: Burro salato, alloro, olio d’oliva e torba vegetale (amiamo sentori/odori alimentari). La morbidezza è evidente sebbene non sembra esausto come tanti suoi coetanei. Torba e fumo ancora.
F: Poco persistente, zenzero, pane al latte e fumo vegetale.
Esperienza grandiosa che sarà arduo ripetere con frequenza. Nel nostro mondo ideale dovrebbe essere il malto da pasteggio usuale. Lasciateci sognare..

N: As often happened when we smell old Islay whisky from 70’s we turn off the brain and the journey starts: light and rounded peat, vegetal smoke, laurel and ginger. Moreover, milk bread just cooked and overripe pears.
P: Starting with salt butter, laurel, olive oil and vegetal peat. It is smooth although it doesn’t seem exhaust like most of its peers. Peat and smoke again, yes the 70’s peat rounded without peak.
F: Short aftertaste, cinnamon, milk bread and vegetal smoke.
It has been a great experience to taste it. Unfortunately there will be ever less chance to taste similar Laga from 70’s. It is a complete MASTERPIECE.

LAGAVULIN 25 ANNI (55%, OB, 2016)

C: Ambra.
N: Legno, fumo intenso e salmone. Sembra diverso dagli altri OBs con lunghi invecchiamenti. Per la prima volta sniffando un lagavulin annotiamo lo sherry come sentore, poi frutta rossa e odori metallici.
P: Ancora vagamente “sherroso” con zaffate di fumo e legno bruciato. Pinol, cipolla rossa e un’ondata salina. Infine marmellata di arance.
F: Lungamente persistente, fumo, pinoli e frutta rossa.
Tutti hanno aspettative altissime per questo prodotto. Non avrete bisogno del nostro feedback ma ci teniamo a ribadire l’immensa qualità imbottigliata dopo 25 anni di riposo in botte.
Ps: Bellissima la bottiglia, sono inseriti i 19 nomi dei Distillery Manager dal giorno dell’apertura. Tiratura: 8000 pezzi.
