C: Oro.

N: Stupefacente. Si inizia con la torba terrosa e una nota di fieno. Di seguito, in costanza della percezione alcolemica, registriamo: zest di limone, marmellata di mele e noci.

P: Zest di limone e frutti di mare, che binomio?! Inoltre, olio d’oliva, erica e torba. Infine, noci e pere mature.

F: Mediamente persistente, torba, noci e frutti di mare.

Un single cask strepitoso, la torba e I frutti di mare si amalgamano a meraviglia.

C: Gold.

N: Impressive. It starts with earthy peat and a hint of cut hay. On top of that, while the alcohol was punching our nose we perceived: lemon peel, apples marmalade and nuts.

P: Lemon peel and sea foods, what a beauty?! Moreover, olive oil, heather and peat. Lastly, nuts and overripe pears.

F: Medium aftertaste, peat, nuts and sea food.

An impressive OMC bottling, the peat and sea foods are marvelously joined together.

BUNNAHABHAIN 25 ANNI (46,3%, OB, 2012)

Versione Italiana:

C: Ambra.

N: Malto, vino bianco e una zaffata minerale. Poi, caffè, sapone e mandorle.

P: Abbastanza potente, miele, vino bianco, zenzero e ancora un sentore minerale. Infine note di pesche sopra un sostrato minerale.

F: Mediamente persistente, malto, minerale e zenzero.

Avevamo grandi aspettative, abbiamo sempre pensato che fosse una distilleria sottovalutata. Tuttavia questa Release non ha lasciato il segno. Il quarto di secolo passato in botte non ha conferito quella complessità sensoriale registrata in altre espressioni.

N: Malt, white wine and a touch of mineral. Furthermore, coffee, soap and almond.

P: Quite powerful, honey, white wine, ginger and mineral. Lastly a hint of peaches on a background of malt.

F: Medium aftertaste, malty, mineral and ginger.

We had an high hope because we have ever thought that Bunnahabhain was an underrated distillery. However, this release is not so depth. The long period of aging is hidden into the trace.
