N: Si inizia con sherry e frutta secca. Di seguito notiamo tracce di legno legate al profumo di pesche mature. Infine, crema pasticcera e miele.
P: La percezione dell’alcol al palato è maggiore dell’effettiva gradazione alcolemica (45%). Annotiamo la presenza di frutta: pesche, melone bianco e mele gialle mature. Nel finale frutta secca.
F: Mediamente persistente, miele, legno e pesche.
Un dram giornaliero abbastanza piacevole. Non estremamente complesso anche se decisamente strutturato.

N: Ciliegie e miele, di seguito segnaliamo tracce di cannella e uvetta. Infine, legno, mandorle e sherry.
P: Abbastanza particolare l’unione di frutta molto matura (mele e ciliegie) con zenzero e cannella. Forse anche un tocco di cuoio e sughero.
F: Molto persistente, cannella, cuoio e ciliegie.
Rappresenta la versione attuale del precedente 15 yo. Con un anno di invecchiamento in più il risultato non cambia, sempre buono. Da notare il rapporto qualità prezzo.

C: Mogano.
N: Aromi travolgenti: potente e dolce odore di sherry, cioccolato fondente e un chiaro sentore di lana bagnata. Che sensazione di pienezza?! Inoltre, susine e legno bagnato.
P: Si inizia con varie spezie (tabacco da pipa e pepe nero le più presenti). Poi arriva l’esplosione: frutta rossa, sherry, cuoio, prugne e legno bruciato.
F: Molto persistente, sherry, prugne, legno bagnato e cioccolato.
Che magnifico imbottigliamento! Invecchiato per 17 anni in botte ex sherry first fill, ciò risulta abbastanza chiaro sin da subito. Potente e profondo.

LONGMORN 18 ANNI (58,1%, Antica Casa Marchesi Spinola, 1971-1990)

C: Ambra.
N: Più erbaceo degli altri. Infatti percepiamo le note di erica e fieno. Di seguito sentori di olio canforato legato allo sherry. Infine prugne, legno bangato e olio d’oliva.
P: Lo sherry sta prendendo piede, cosi come la frutta rossa e le prugne. Tuttavia il legno bruciato e radici di liquirizia timbrano il cartellino. Infine richiami erbacei.
F: Mediamente persistente, erbaceo e sherry.
Molto particolare, intenso e complesso un malto di un’altra epoca, l’unica pecca è la scarsissima reperibilità.
