C: Mogano.
N: Dopo aver percepito il sentore di frutta gialla matura, lasciamo in tutta la sua gloria respirare il distillato per qualche decina di minuti e ci riavviciniamo con grande curiosità, emergono note di frutta rossa, mirtilli nello specifico ma sullo sfondo percepiamo il sughero ed il cuoio. Nei giorni successivi all’apertura il prodotto acquisisce carattere, segnaliamo l’odore di argento appena pulito (argentil) e una speziatura di cumino e noce moscata. Inoltre il legno esprime il suo nirvana ad una ventina di giorni dall’apertura quando si amalgama perfettamente con tutto il resto.
P: Che dire? Abbiamo individuato tre fasi:
- frutta, gialla e rossa con un sottofondo di erica e carciofo.
- legno e sughero sono più delicati in secondo luogo fuoriescono cera e il grasso per le scarpe.
- spezie, cumino, pepe rosa e cannella.
F: Abbastanza lungo i punti di riferimento sono il legno gli agrumi e la buccia di arancia.
Ammettiamo che ci piace a prescindere, ci piace la chiarezza nell’etichetta (vatting di botti invecchiate da 10 a 40 anni) ci piace l’esperimento, ci piace il risultato. Elegantissimo, piacevole, complesso e chi più ne ha più ne metta, appena finita la nostra unica bottiglia sentiamo la necessità di reperirne quante più possibili.
Ultima riflessione mai come questa volta abbiamo assistito ad un’evoluzione nell’arco della vita della bottiglia (ci è durata 2 mesi circa, ANCHE TROPPO POCO) che impressione ci avrebbe fatto se avessimo avuto a disposizione solo un bicchiere?

N: Wow, starting with overripe yellow fruit then we need having time to postray a big austerity, now we noticed red fruit, bluberry with a background of leather, lard and cork. If you are able to wait you will satisfied by a marvellous notes of silver soap and many spices such a cumin and nutmeg. Lastly we have to say that the wood came out graciously. No doubt we are drinking a vatting whisky of very old aged whisky.
P: What say? We have pinpointed three phases on the palate:
- a) fruit, red and yellow with an aftertaste of heather or something like cabbage.
- b) wood and cork are light but this time we perceive wax and shoe polish.
- c) Spices, cumin, pink pepper cinnamon.
F: The aftertaste is quite long, the main characters are the wood, citrus and the orange peel.
We liked it regardless, first of all we support the cause about the clarity of whisky aging (btw Silvano Samaroli already put this data on the label) then we have appreciate the structure of the distillate furthermore we honestly impressed by the number of flavours.
