C: Oro pallido/giallo paglierino.
N: Subito risaltano il caramello, il miele, la vaniglia, tripudia la dolcezza. Col tempo si aggiunge una declinazione erbacea discernibile come erba medica appena falciata. La ciliegia sopraggiunge lesta e si spande morbidamente come se fosse imburrata, ricordo di pasticciotto leccese.
P: Quanto la dolcezza del primo sorso ci pervade, tanto la salinità della salamoia che sopraggiunge ci incalza seppur limitatamente ai primi sorsi. Quindi i toni si chetano per virare nuovamente sulla morbidezza della vaniglia e della crema pasticcera. A distanza si nota l’arancia amara, che alternata ai sentori dolci da struttura.
F: Pepe bianco e miele e albicocca e mela danno una lunga piacevole e dolce persistenza frizzantina pur senza il sostegno alcolico.
Balblair ci regala un distillato di pregevole fattura, piacevolissimo da sorseggiare dal primo all’ultimo bicchiere. Grossa la coerenza sensoriale. Da sottolineare come l’armonia delle parti differenti trovi equilibrio nell’insieme. Ben strutturato.

C: Pale gold.
N: Suddenly caramel, honey and vanilla arise strongly: a joy of sweetness. As time goes by a new, herbal scent – like grass cut just now – reaches the nose. It is then time for some cherry spreading smoothly as if it is buttered; remembrance of “pasticciotto leccese”, a typical southern Italy cake.
P: Together with a permeating sweetness, a light saltiness of brine starts pressing since the very first sips; later, this salty note starts eclipsing allowing scents of vanilla (again) and cream to take the stage. In the end, bitter orange.
F: White pepper, apricot, honey and apple give the distillate a long, pleasant, sparkling persistence, not supported at all by spirit.
Many thanks to Balblair for this extremely polished whisky, with a remarkable coherence between nose, and palate. We would like to point out how different aspects of this whisky are capable to find balance, as if they form a unique entity
