N: Il parametro olfattivo si sorregge su quattro pilastri non equamente rappresentati: spezie, legno, alcol e frutta. La testa degli odori è composta da spezie come il pepe nero e il cumino, coadiuvate dalla forza alcolica a volte troppo pungente; la coda si sostanzia in frutta gialla matura (pere Williams e mele) e in un prepotente odore di legno.
P: L’alcol cosi fortemente percepito al naso non si ripropone in bocca, sorprendentemente lo spettro dei sapori fruttati cresce, sia in favore della frutta gialla matura (di nuovo pere e mele, forse anche banane quasi marce) che della frutta secca, mandorle secche e noci. In ultimo qualche sapore di pane appena sfornato con uvetta e sherry.
F: Abbastanza rapido e non persistente concentrato sul dualismo tra sherry e frutta gialla matura.
Partiamo dalle osservazioni più ovvie, degustare un single cask (sherry butt) a gradazione piena (53,7%) è sempre un’esperienza interessante, se poi a occuparsi della scelta e dell’imbottigliamento del prodotto è Malt of Scotland si creano le premesse per alzare, e di molto, l’asticella delle aspettative. Veniamo al TAMDHU, seppur abbastanza giovane (12 anni) crediamo sia complesso e potente, binomio invidiabile, tuttavia qualche caratteristica poco equilibrata (alcol e legnosità) non ci permette di esaltarne le gesta sino alla fine dei tempi…

N: The olfactory parameter stands on four pillars not equally represents: spices, wood, alcohol and fruits. The main head of the smells is represented by spices like the black pepper and cumin, helped by the alcoholic percentage that is too much pungent sometimes. The tail is represented instead by yellow mellow fruits ( Williams pears and apples) and by a rude wood smell.
P: The alcoholic percentage is not strongly perceived into the mouth, and surprisingly the fruity notes grows up with a taste of yellow mellow fruits (there again pears and apples and also rot banana maybe) with a mixture of dried fruits, dried almonds and walnuts. At last few flavors of fresh cooked bread with currant and sherry.
F: Quick enough and not persistent final, concentrated on a dualism between the sherry and the yellow mellow fruits.
Starting from the obvious comments: it’s a very interesting experience tring a full alcoholic content (53,7%) single cask (sherry butt), chosen and bottled by Malt of Scotland, so as a result of high expectations. Different is the TAMDHU one, young enough (12 years), complex and powerful but the alcoholic content and the woody note does not allow to exalt the valors however…
